Idas is a young, talented song-writer whose talent for creating melodic, radio worthy and lyrically strong repertoire is to be admired.

Idas, 22, grew up in the small village of Poulton-le-Fylde just outside Blackpool. Unleashing his passion for music at a young age, he learnt how to play both the guitar and piano aged 8,writing and performing music at every opportunity and to whoever would listen. “The music I write is influenced by my own experiences and the events and situations that have affected the people I know and even the people I don’t”, explains IDAS.

Idas recorded his first tracks at the age of 14, and shortly after honed his songwriting and production skills further at a Manchester based production house called Airtight Studio’s. Then almost locking himself away from the world he worked in his own studio until he had defined his distinctive musical personality.

Idas then began to collaborate with other musicians, songwriters and several top producers including Matt Schwartz who has produced hits all over the world with the likes of Massive Attack, Mica Paris and Arthur Baker, and Pete Craigie who has worked with artists such as R.Kelly, Alicia Keys, Sugababes and Rhianna, on a number of songs.

Along with all this Idas has a great supporting team around him including his father, whoright from the early years has supported in many roles. Idas is also supported by Darren Henderson (Ex Sony Music SVP), whose successes include the reformation of Take That, the creation of the award winning Elvis singles idea and signing of compilation brands that included School Disco and Live Lounge.

With his instinctive understanding of what works for the listener, he blends sounds and creates distinctive melodies to whatever the musical task.

Idas is clearly one of this countries rising song-writing stars and the year 2010 certainly looks bright for him.
